Premier's Reading Challenge
The Premier's Reading Challenge is an initiative of the Premier, the Hon. Bob Carr, to encourage children in NSW to read.
Children completing the Challenge are awarded a special certificate.
St Ives Park Public School registers for the Challenge. (There is no need for individual families to register their children.)
Children complete an official Reading Record which must be returned to school by Mid-August. (Forms are available from our Library or via the Premier's Reading Challenge website.)
Lists of books for each Challenge (K-2; Years 3-4; Years 5-6) are available from the website and are posted in our Library. Children are made aware of the Library section set aside for eligible books which are also marked for easy recognition.
K-2 Challenge - children must read 40 eligible books.
Years 3-4 and 5-6 Challenge - children must read 20 eligible books.
